“The Home Care Assistance Team work very hard to make things work and stay consistent…Highly appreciated in the current environment that makes it so very difficult to source the right candidates for this kind of service and commitment!”
Sharon Jerkovic – June 13

“This company offers first class service. They hand pick their people very carefully to give the clients the most satisfaction. I feel very safe to leave my loved one in their care. I would certainly recommend Home Care Assistance to anyone who needs a break from caring for someone or even a companion to take them around. Keep up the good job Home Care team!!!”
Olga Perez – August 10

“We used Home Care Assistance while my 88 year old aunt was ill and unable to care for herself during an illness. I must compliment Leah our coordinator for her excellent communication and organizational skills. From the very beginning she was very clear and helpful setting up my aunt’s care. The caregivers were all excellent and truly wonderful with my aunt. Patient, caring and professional. I would highly recommend HCA and will use them in the future, if the need be.”
Denny Williams, Vancouver – July 15

“I wanted to send a quick note of appreciation after this last week of intensive interaction with your staff, including especially Janice and Helen, for our mother. We had a couple of issues that I did discuss promptly with both of your case manager supervisors, and I would like to especially commend their immediate engagement, evident professionalism and continued personal courtesy throughout our communications. I have also been impressed that Helen and Janice have provided quite seamless supervisory assistance as they transition between coverage and both of them have provided a very high level of professional service that I want to acknowledge and for which I’d also like express my sincere appreciation. I have been less directly involved with the primary caretakers attending to our mother, but through the recent ER and post-ER experience, I also want to note that our mother’s mood has very much improved . She is very grateful for the care and companionship she has received and her current mental state reflects that.”
Kurt A., Vancouver

“Thanks again for an awesome start to this very dynamic situation. The caregiver is doing an impeccable job. He really is perfect for this situation, and you have obviously done an excellent job to assess our needs so accurately. It is just so comforting to all of us to realize such excellent assistance with our father.”
John R., Vancouver, Vancouver

“My caregiver is very calm. She has a lot of patience with me and together, we have fun and share a lot of laughs. She makes things easier for me. We talk, play cards, go out for lunch, and do things that my husband hates to do, like shopping. My caregiver helps me a lot.”
Helen D., Vancouver

“It’s never easy to realize that your family needs more help than the family can provide on its own, and the decision to reach for outside support can be difficult. In 2006, my mom was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. My parents live in a house on their own and for the past five years, I watched my mom’s mobility and level of independence steadily decrease, and my dad’s levels of stress and responsibility significantly increase. My sister and I looked into several home care organizations and ultimately, decided upon Home Care Assistance. We were impressed with their balanced approach to care, and their thorough and genuine efforts to get to know my mom and find a Caregiver best suited for her needs. Home Care Assistance has been a huge source of support for both my parents. With the help of her Caregiver, my mom can participate in the activities she loves without needing to depend on my dad to accompany her. My dad can now enjoy some relaxing time on his own. In many ways, Home Care Assistance has given my parents a part of their life back. It has been such a relief knowing that they are in such safe and professional hands.”

“Sue and I would really like to thank Home Care Assistance for helping us make a very stressful time in our life, less stressful. We didn’t give you much notice and yet you rose to the occasion to help us out. Your case manager did a wonderful job of assessing the situation and also of being an excellent liaison for us and the caregiver. And the caregiver of course was an excellent choice for my dad. He felt very comfortable with her as did we and I don’t believe there could have been a better choice. So thanks again, we will certainly be in touch and would highly recommend you.”
Robert K., Vancouver

“Home Care Assistance provides quality care aides, compassionate and well instructed in caregiving. Three aides assisting us are equally kind and familiar with our routine. A great advantage for us. We are very satisfied with the services Home Care Assistance provides.”
Margaret Haugom – June 14

“I highly recommend Home Care Assistance! Always there for any crisis and go out of their way to make things work! Thanks to the whole team! And a big thank you to Leah!”
Selina Birkett – June 6

“We used Home Care Services over the past year assisting our 91 year old mother while she was in an assisted living home. All of the caregivers were excellent and caring and made a difference in her day. Communication was excellent and we always felt well informed of her care. My mother’s quality of life was enhanced by the caregivers, and they were all able to accommodate her changing health needs. I would highly recommend Home Care Services.”
Jennifer Judge – July 15

“Please extend my thanks to Susan (the caregiver) and her dog. I had a very unusual talk with my mom yesterday in that this was the first call in years where she was so relaxed and so happy with her day and it was clearly due to Susan and her dog. You are providing invaluable gifts to her and I just want you to know how much I appreciate it.”
Maureen D., Therapist and Clinical Supervisor (mom lives in Vancouver)

“Our family has been using Home Care Assistance services since October 2010 and recommend this company and their caregivers 100%. My mother has Alzheimer’s so we require personal care, companionship and light housekeeping duties. Carolina and her team of case workers really put the effort into finding the right match for the patient and their families. We have been fully supported from all members of the company and appreciate their personal touch.”
Cathy S., Surrey

“My sincere thanks to you and your staff at Home Care Assistance for coming to my 11th hour rescue back in May. Your Caregiver helped me shower daily, made my bed, prepared meals and did some food shopping, light cleaning and the laundry. She was a gem, always on time, and her manner and demeanor exhibited her many years of experience as an expert Caregiver. She was dependable, calm, caring and trust worthy. I also enjoyed her lovely sense of humor. I also salute you for your flexibility in making the effort to accommodate a prospective client at the “last minute,” as well as your reasonable cost for the excellent care received.”
Patricia L. Waller, Retired U.S. Diplomat

“My wife Carol had a hard two-year struggle with incurable cancer, declining steadily until life was hardly more than a pin-hole. The last year I arranged for a caretaker for weekdays, and had help from my daughters, but in the final month they needed help as well and I was no longer able to handle weekends and nights. We contacted Home Care Assistance, who provided round-the-clock attendants. I cannot really find the words to say how wonderful they were: highly competent, comforting and caring, endlessly patient and reassuring. They became family friends. Carol passed away – thankfully, in peace – clutching in her hand a little soft animal that one of the attendants had given her. It was symbolic of the relationship that had developed. I cannot praise and thank them enough.”

“Home Care Assistance raises exactly the right banner in promoting The Balanced Care Method as the foundation for all good care. In the rush of medical care systems that focus almost exclusively on problems, The Balanced Care Method encourages an approach which emphasizes creating strengths. For centuries we have known that better health in aging is tied to physical, emotional, social, and spiritual factors. Regardless of diseases, building on these basics of good health matters.

But beyond creating strengths for elders, families that emphasize Balanced Care will come to work together and understand more clearly how to cope with medical problems and illnesses. The secret is in the strength of the foundation of care. The rest then comes into clearer perspective; complex situations and decision-making during this time of life are better understood and engaged. Home Care Assistance is about foundation-building-for elders, families, supportive friends and, ultimately, for your health care team.”
